Below are my top 5 types of welders I like and use updated October 19, 2024.
MIG Welder
The Hobart 500553 Handler is a solid heavy-duty welder that will do most jobs from 14 gauge to 3/8″ thick metal.
With an interchangeable cord, it can plug into 115v and 230v outlets so no matter where you are you’ll be able to plug this welder in.
It also has a 10′ long welding lead and a 10′ long ground clamp making it easier for you to reach things and work on any project.
Stick Welder
The DekoPro is a 110/220-volt arc welder that is a 160 amp machine that’s easy to use, light, and easy to carry around to different jobs.
It also has a digital display and is great for working on simple jobs around your house or farm and has a 40/60 rated duty cycle.
Great for doing small projects and repairing things that might be rusty and old.
TIG Welder
The Lincoln Electric Square Wave TIG 200 Welder is great for great-looking welds. It offers a variety of features from pulse to filler metal disposition.
It also makes a great welder for aluminum, making nice, wide, and tight welds from thicker to lighter metals.
It also allows you to have the option of doing stick welding as well. On top of that, it’s light and portable so you can carry it anywhere.
3 in 1 Welder
The ESAB EMP 210 Multi Process Welder does Stick, MIG, and TIG all-in-one machine that allows you to do a variety of different projects.
It’s also a great fit for welding mild steel, aluminum, and even stainless steel. Best of all this small unit only weighs 29 pounds making it easy to carry around.
If you’re looking to weld a variety of different projects and sell them in your local area or online this machine will do it all.
Heavy Duty Welder
If you’re looking for a heavy-duty MIG welder that can do it all then the Miller Electric Wheeland 208/230 VAC is the best there is.
This welder will weld lighter metals from 22 gauge to a 1/2″ thick mild steel in one solid pass.
If you’re looking to do more production work and not just tinker around then this welder is what you need and is the type of welder I use.
